I used a VGA cable to hook my XBOX 360 to a Dell flat-screen PC monitor and used this splitter to plug my headphones in. Sound is great with no power / delay / feedback issues.
I use these with my 360 VGA cables so I can plug in my headphones and game at night. There is no loss of quality. It does exactly what it is intended to do, and it can take quite a beating.
I also use this with my PS3. Once again it works PERFECT. Anyone who games with a monitor or has speakers that only accept the 3.5mm audio jacks NEEDS TO GET THESE. Its cheap and it WORKS GREAT.
